![]() The connectors are permalocked by the script btw, which makes it impossible to unlock them while the script is running. The whole subgrid is mounted with a connector, which eliminates a sideways acceleration, that is present when the subgrid is mounted on rotors. The subgrid merge block is pushed out pretty fast by changing the offset of two rotors that are stacked on top of each other. When two merge blocks, one on the main grid, one on a subgrid, are linked (they glow yellow) and you then push them apart laterally, they will stay linked and an acceleration is applied to your ship, depending on how fast they are pushed apart. The MPD-1 Merge Pulse Drive is a type of clang drive utilizing a very weird exploit with merge blocks. So for thrust in all 6 directions you would need at least 3 of these, one in each axis. The drive can produce thrust in two directions the one it's pointing at and the opposite direction. ![]() Also it does not apply a torque like grav drives do. it gets more powerful the heavier your ship is. The most interesting thing about it is that it delivers a fixed acceleration independent from your ships mass, i.e. ![]() A simple and ridiculously overpowered "thruster" that works everywhere and for free.
